WELCOME TO THE USHINE CENTER
The UShine Center serves young people and adults with autism by providing carefully constructed programs that center around personal enhancement and creating opportunities to grow a meaningful life. By carving a pathway towards a future of purposeful work and self-fulfillment, the UShine Center provides value not only to our members and their families, but also to our community as a whole.
The UShine Center is run by a loving group of people whose personal lives have been touched by people with autism and differently-abled people. Because of this we noticed that there was a group of individuals that weren’t currently being provided with the services that they needed to truly better their lives - adults with autism.
We take great pride in creating a warm and inviting environment which is meant to engage and enhance the lives of adults with autism.
Our life skills classes teach everything from day-to-day life skills to job training basics. Think of an advanced home economics and life skills course that is specifically designed for someone with autism in mind, with topics like “Self-Care & Personal Hygiene”, “Keeping a Happy Healthy House”, “Easy Budgeting and Caring for Finances”, “Goal Setting and Planning”. Job skills classes include, “Computer Basics”, “Interacting With Others In A Professional Setting”, “Learning To Stay On Task”, “Resume Building and Interview Preparation”.
Our internship program gives applicants a chance to put their skills to the test and learn on the job from supervisors who care about growing their interns and helping them realize their potential.
We are also thrilled to announce that the UShine Center is now certified by U.C.L.A. to run the PEERS program!
Our program runs out of the beautiful historic Commerce Building, in the heart of Everett, WA.
